Different kinds of success register with us at different stages in our life. As children, maybe we watch television or read books about adventures and simple romances, happy families, having a yard with a treehouse (as an adult you realise that having a yard is actually really expensive). As a teen, you want to fall in love, obviously, and as an adult you want to have it all. The house (the yard), the ‘S.O’, probably great sex, and lots of money. If not lots of money, then enough money to not have to ever think about money. Mentally, I tick off how many of these things I do not currently have. But that doesn’t mean I’m not successful.
